Course Overview

This course provides participants with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies and aligned to Timor-Leste Emergency response standards.

The course applies to all people who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

This course is delivered by Industries Services Training, trading as ISAustralia (RTO 0860) in partnership with LicensingTL. LicensingTL is responsible for the recruitment, enrolment, support and training of participants undertaking this course. Industries Services Training, trading as ISAustralia (RTO 0860), is responsible for support, assessment and certification of all participants enrolled in this course.

COURSE DURATION

The full course is delivered within 3 days. This is an accredited unit of competency that will include a blend of theory and practical assessment.

DELIVERY

3 days of classroom training, practice and assessment
Self-paced learning and homework approximately 1–2 hours estimated per day

Entry Requirements

Age: Minimum 18 years of age
Language/Literacy: Average reading and writing skills
Oral Communication
Have the necessary health and fitness to carry out the practical demonstration tasks safely, including uninterrupted CPR for up to 2 minutes on the floor
A USI is required for those completing the training in Australia; for those completing the course in Timor-Leste an exemption is applied

Course Outcome

On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for ‘HLTAID011 Provide First Aid’ unit of competency.

Please be advised that this course will not lead to an occupational licensed outcome in Australia. However the Timor-Leste regulator IGEADI does recognise this course under their framework.
